‘Kerk Binnenstebuiten’, a joint initiative from the Grote Kerk Breda and Blindwalls Gallery where contemporary artists create new paintings for the construction fence, inspired by the rich interior of the church. I was inspired by two gravestones in the church of Henricus Coerman (a rich market vendor from Aken) and Johan Backx (a former treasurer of Breda). The symbolism on the gravestones and further research inspired me to depict these historical figures as a billygoat and a lion.
